Dolphin S200 robotic pool Cleaner review: Specs, Features, pros & Cons

Dolphin S200 robotic pool cleaner

The Dolphin S Series is Maytronics middle tier residential pool cleaning range, designed to be affordable, powerful, and economical. Today we’ll be taking an in-depth look at the Dolphin S200 robotic pool cleaner to see if it’s right for you.

Dolphin S200 review

The Dolphin S200 is a lightweight residential pool cleaner designed for both above, and in-ground pools up to 50ft in length. The S200 pool cleaner is capable of cleaning the pools floor, walls and waterline, and is designed to clean any surface type.

It comes packed with loads of great features that allow it to give an efficient yet thorough clean. The Dolphin S200 pool cleaner uses CleverClean Navigation which maps out the most efficient path to take while cleaning your pool, while also giving it the ability to manoeuvre around any objects that get in its way.

Just like the Dolphin Triton Ps The Dolphin S200 uses a PowerStream mobility system that produces multi-directional water jets which create maximum suction on the pools surface. In return this gives it excellent wall climbing, and waterline cleaning capabilty.

It comes equiped with a 60ft anti-tangle swivel cable unlike its younger brother the Dolphin S50, which prevents it from becoming tangled around its own cord while performing a clean. This makes it a reliable automatic cleaner when it comes to being left to clean unsupervised.

The Dolphin S200 uses a top loaded multi- layered filtration system that is designed to filter both fine, and ultra fine dirt particles, while also being able to filter large debris like sticks and leaves.

If you’re after an automatic pool cleaner with an extra large filter cartridge then check out the Dolphin Premier robotic pool cleaner.

Do take note though, the Dolphin S200 pool cleaner can be expensive to fix if parts need replaced and the cleaner is no longer under warranty.

If you’re looking at purchasing the Dolphin S200 it will cost you around $1099, and will need to be purchased from your local Dolphin supplier.

Dolphin s200 pool cleaner key features

Quick water release

The Dolphin S200 pool cleaner uses a quick water release system just like the Dolphin M600, that allows any excess water that is trapped in the cleaner to be drained through a flap at the bottom while it is being removed from the pool. This feature compliments its lightweight design nicely, making it an easy cleaner to transport for any pool owners.

Weekly timer

The built in weekly timer function gives you the ability to set an automatic cleaning schedule for your Dolphin pool cleaner. Set the timer to every 24, 48 or 72 hours. This is great because it means your pool can continue to be cleaned even when you’re out of town. One thing to remember however is not to leave your Dolphin pool cleaner in the pool for longer than 7 days at a time.

If you want to take automatic pool cleaning to the next level, then take a look at the Dolphin Oasis Z5 which features the MyDolphin app. This app allows you to set weekly timers, cycles times, and even control it manually through your tablet, or smartphone!

Multi layered filtration System

The Dolphin S200 uses a top loaded dual-layered filter system with both fine, and ultra fine filters. The fine filters are designed for debris like sand and bugs, while the ultra fine filters are for micro particle such as dust and pollen. These filters are also simple to remove, and easy to clean.

CleverClean Navigation

The Dolphin pool cleaner S200 uses CleverClean Navigation much like the Dolphin Active 20. This navigation system gives it the ability to map out the most efficient cleaning route to take when cleaning, giving you more time to enjoy your clean pool. This also gives the S200 the ability to avoid any objects it comes across and allows it to return to its original cleaning path.

PowerStream Mobility

PowerStream Mobility works by propelling multiple jets of water in different directions. This allows the Maytronics Dolphin S200 to create maximum suction on the pools surface, giving it excellent wall climbing capability, while also helping it remove any stuck on dirt or debris. Check out the Dolphin Proteus DX4 also, another Dolphin model which packs the same feature.
