Battery powered pool cleaners are fast becoming a popular choice of cleaner for pool owners.
With no hoses or cords required, they are not only easy to set up, but easy to operate.
Today we’ll be taking a look at two popular battery powered pool cleaners, the PAXCESS cordless pool cleaner, and the AIPER Smart Seagull 600 to see which one is the best value for money.
So le’ts dive into it!
Make | Pool Type | Charge Time | Run Time | Pool Size | Cleaning Coverage |
PAXCESS | Above/in-ground | 4-5 hours | 90 minutes max | 860 Sq Ft | Floor & inclines up to 15° |
AIPER 600 | Above/ in-ground | 3-4 hours | 50 minutes max | 538 Sq Ft | Floor only |
First lets take a look at the PAXCESS robotic pool vacuum.
PAXCESS cordless pool cleaner quick review

The PAXCESS cordless pool cleaner is a battery powered robotic vacuum that features a IPX8 waterproof design, and is able to clean both in-ground/above pools of up to 860 Sq Ft, and up to a max depth of 6.6ft. This pool vacuum comes equiped with a 5000mAh Lithium-ion battery which has a max run time of 90 minutes, and will take between 4-5 hours to reach full charge.
It is designed specifically to clean only the pools floor, but has the capability to climb inclines of up to 15° thanks to its 4-wheel drive design, and is able to clean any surface type.
It uses an easily accessible filter tray that is easy to remove and clean. This filter is designed for debris such as sticks, leaves, bugs and dirt, but does not cope well with micro particles like dust or pollen.
The PAXCESS cordless pool vacuum uses a PVC scrubbing brush which is able to provide a decent clean, while its wide dual suction inlets do a good job inhaling debris without any blockages. However its brushes are not powerful enough to dislodge stubborn debris like algae or biofilm.
To find its way around the pool the PAXCESS pool cleaner uses SmartNav navigation which ensures every area of the pools surface is scrubbed in the most efficient amount of time possible, and has a moving speed of 16m/min.
It features a self docking system which makes it automatically return to the pools edge when the cleaning cycle has finished, or when the battery is getting below 20%
Pros:
- Affordable
- Efficient at cleaning
- Cordless
- Good suction power
- Easy to clean filter
- 2 year warranty
Cons:
- Doesn’t clean walls
- Doesn’t clean steps
- Can’t filter micro particles
AIPER smart cordless automatic pool cleaner quick Review

The AIPER Smart Seagull is one of the first cordless automatic pool cleaners designed for both above and in-ground pools, of any shape, and surface type. However it is only capable of cleaning the floor of flat bottomed pools and has no wall climbing capability.
It features a simple to use lightweight design, with one touch operation, simply power the AIPER Seagull on at the bottom of the cleaner, drop it in the water and away it goes. This makes it a great choice for first time owners of a robotic pool cleaner.
The AIPER Seagull is powered by a powerful dual-drive motor which allows it to deliver great suction power, while at the same time being energy efficient.
Designed with a built-in 2600mAh lithium battery, the AIPER Smart cordless pool cleaner has an approximate run time of around 50 minutes making it ideal for small to mid sized pools up to 50m in length. The battery of the AIPER Smart cordless automatic pool cleaner will take around 3-4 hours to reach maximum charge.
The AIPER Smart Seagull also features self park technology which gives it the ability to return to the side of the pool when it’s finished its cleaning cycle, or when its battery is getting low meaning you don’t have to go for a swim to retrieve it.
The AIPER Smart Seagull comes with a standard one year warranty, which in my opinion isn’t very long for an automatic pool cleaner.
Pros:
- Cordless
- Afforable
- Easy to operate
- Good suction power
- lightweight
- Fast charging
Cons:
- Only has a run time of 50 minutes
- Only comes with a 1 year warranty
PAXCESS vs AIPER Smart Seagull 600 summary
When it came to choosing the better battery powered pool cleaner it was a tricky decision.
Both pool cleaners packed many of the same features, but there were a few slight differences that gave one pool cleaner the edge over the other.
For me, in my opinion the PAXCESS cordless vacuum is the better pool cleaner. Though it was slightly more expensive it was able to do some beneficial things that the AIPER Seagull 600 couldn’t.
First of all like how it can not only clean the pools floor, but it is also capable of climbing inclines of up to 15° thanks to its 4-wheel drive system making it more versatile.
The second area that made me sway towards the PAXCESS was the fact that its battery has nearly double the run time, meaning it is able to clean larger pools once again making it more versatile. Though its battery takes an hour more to charge I didn’t feel like this was an issue.
And the third and final area that separated the two pool cleaners for me was the fact that the PAXCESS pool cleaner uses SmartNav navigation when moving around the pool, as apposed to the AIPER Smart Seagull 600 which just uses sensors. The Smart navigation allows for the PAXCESS pool vacuum to be able to give a more thorough yet efficient clean.
It is for all these reasons I feel like the PAXESS pool robot is the better cleaner, and best value for money.
